Benefits of using CResDA
Organisations who use CResDA can benefit from:
Using an empirically-validated tool with best practice recommendations for implementation
Recommendations for changes to organisational processes based on workplace profiles
Evaluating the success of implementing new technologies through changes in digital attitudes
About CResDA
CResDA is a survey tool that has been empirically validated by surveying 1,175 employees from diverse backgrounds and workplaces in the UK through Prolific Academic and has also been used in a large public sector organisation in the UK. The questions in CResDA should take respondents around 10 minutes to complete.
When to use CResDA
Due to anonymity concerns, CResDA is best used on relatively large scale projects (e.g., within an organisation or supply chain) although in larger organisations it could also be used at departmental level if technology is only being implemented in one area. CResDA can also be used both before and after the introduction of new technologies to examine digital attitudes and contextual resources over time.
Additional questions, such as those concerning employees’ acceptance and use of technology (Venkatesh et al., 2003), or attendance at different digital change events (such as training, presentations, pilot lines) can be included alongside CResDA statements. It is important that any additional questions are used in a manner which preserves respondents’ anonymity.
Working with an external evaluation provider
Whilst the survey administrator does not need a background in human factors, it is important that they familiarise themselves with what the digital attitudes and contextual resources represent (as outlined next). Some organisations may choose to partner with an external provider specialising in the people and organisational aspects of digital change. Partnering with independent providers, such as universities or research institutes, can offer additional expertise and advice relating to digital change, while also enhancing employees’ trust that their responses to CResDA will be kept confidential.
